AM: At 8:00 AM, our guide and car will pick you up at your hotel in Hue city, then transfer to Dong Ha town to visit the Demilitarized Zone. You will visit Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai River at the 17th Parallel, the landmark that divided North and South Vietnam from 1954 to 1972. Learn more about how Vietnam soldiers fought to create the glorious pages in history and explore the museum, which features a small exhibition of historic objects from the war. Next, visit the Vinh Moc tunnels – a network of tunnels built by villagers seeking shelter from bombings during the Vietnam War. This is the place where an entire village lived for two and a half years. When visiting these tunnels, you can see and admire the resilience of the Vietnamese people during the war. The complex includes wells, kitchens, rooms for each family, and spaces for healthcare. Return to Dong Ha town for lunch at the restaurant.

PM: Continue your tour by visiting Dakrong Bridge, the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which crosses over the Thanh Han River. The last stop of this day trip is the Khe Sanh Combat Base – one of the most famous battles of the war in Quang Tri. Located just east of the Laos border, it was the site of a United States base that came under attack in early 1968. You will see the old airfield with red dirt still remaining. Enter the museum of Ta Con airport to learn about the fierce nature of the war and how hard the people of Quang Tri fought against the enemy. Then, the driver will transfer you back to Hue in the late afternoon. The tour ends at your hotel in Hue.
